You put a lot of work into getting a listing. But, once you enter it into your real estate board’s MLS, it gets displayed and promoted on thousands of other real estate websites.

That means big brands like RE/MAX, RLP, Zoocasa, Zolo, Zillow, Kijiji, etc. have the right to market your listing. They are all spending a lot of money trying to rank #1 on Google for your listing.

To make matters worse – you also need to worry about your local competitors using your listing to grow their own business!

Write as much as you can about the house, design, neighbourhood and your personal experiences while at the same time strategically adding in keywords that you want to rank for.

Don’t stop there – you should also unique content like 3D tours, floor plans, and videos.

The more unique and personalized you make your listing, the more love you’ll get. Not just by Google but from your buyers and your client.

How do you add content to your listing?

If you have a WordPress site, you will need to load your listing onto your website yourself. You need to have the same content as the MLS, but it’s worth spending the time to upload all the images, rooms and other property details.   

If you use another provider, you’ll have to ask them how you can add unique and personal data to your listing through their platform. Not all providers let you.
